Question 1: You’ve had several entrepreneurial ventures before founding MOHA. Which one taught you the most valuable lessons?

Since starting my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve ventured into three startups. The first was Zinbooks.com, a project aimed at providing licensed ebooks to book lovers so they could access a wealth of knowledge without resorting to pirated copies. As an avid reader, this was one of my earliest efforts as a young entrepreneur to combat the distribution of unauthorized paper books and ebooks.

After my first experience, my understanding of the word “startup” began to shift. To me, a startup is simply about initiating projects that create positive and sustainable value for both oneself and society. With this perspective, my second entrepreneurial venture was my time with NTQ.

Aside from my current “child,” MOHA Software, which is my third venture, my time at NTQ has been the most impactful. During my six years there, serving as the Director of the Production Center and later as the Director of the High-Tech Center (NTQ.AI), I encountered many mentors and gained invaluable lessons and experiences. These learnings fueled my strong motivation to establish MOHA Software in 2022.

Question 2: As we approach the end of the year, young people often say, “Another draft year done.” Have you ever had a year that felt like a ‘draft year’?

For me, there’s never been a “draft” year. Everything I’ve experienced, everything I’ve achieved, is a valuable outcome worth appreciating. Some years are marked by great accomplishments, while others may not be as fruitful. Beyond achievements, each passing year brings precious lessons worth cherishing, reflecting on, and sharing.

It’s wonderful that since founding MOHA, every year has brought encouraging accomplishments. I’ve had the opportunity to gain new friends and teammates, and together, we’ve continued to strive toward an even brighter future.

Question 3: During MOHA’s journey this past year, what was the moment that made you most proud of the company and your team?

Throughout my journey, both personally and with MOHA, I’ve always been proud of everyone. We take pride in standing strong and moving forward despite the current economic challenges. We’re proud to have collaborated with our team to serve clients worldwide. Even more so, we’re proud that MOHA continues to evolve and set its sights on higher goals for the future.

Question 4: Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, the world is expected to face significant fluctuations. These changes may influence customer decisions and affect the quality and quantity of the workforce. Do you see this as a major concern for MOHA?

Even without looking ahead to 2025, the world in 2024 has already experienced numerous upheavals: the Russia-Ukraine conflict, wars in Syria, political crises in South Korea, a new U.S. president, and the continued low Japanese yen exchange rate, among others. It’s understandable that such uncertainties make customers more cautious about their investment and purchasing decisions, especially in the tech industry.

However, the trust and sincerity we’ve built with our previous clients, along with our commitment to delivering quality to future clients, are the strengths that empower us to face external challenges. At MOHA, we firmly uphold the principle of “Customer-centricity and long-term partnerships as the foundation for company growth.” For us, customers are the cornerstone of our strength.

Moreover, MOHA is a Vietnamese company, and growing on this stable, secure, and developing homeland is both an advantage and a blessing. Vietnam is increasingly becoming a destination for global giants like Nvidia, and we are rising strongly in cultivating a robust IT engineering workforce. For that reason, I’m not worried about the quality or quantity of our talent pool; rather, I’m immensely proud of it.

I believe that challenges only make us stronger and more mature. Worry isn’t an obstacle but a necessary factor that pushes us to approach strategic decisions with greater caution.

Question 5: Could you share the challenges you face as a leader managing a team with diverse ages, perspectives, cultures, and personalities?

I personally believe that every individual has their unique personality and perspective, which should be acknowledged with respect and positivity. Having worked with many different individuals, I’d like to think I’ve gained some experience in harmonizing diverse personalities within an organization while preserving and enhancing their individuality.

This doesn’t apply only to colleagues within the same country like Vietnam. Soon, we will establish MOHA Japan, welcoming Japanese members and others from various nationalities to enrich the company’s multicultural identity.

For me, this is a great opportunity, but it also comes with the challenge of ensuring everyone can collaborate effectively. Organizations that overcome this hurdle will have a significant advantage in going global, and we are ready to embrace it.

Question 6: Do you have any advice for those passionate about starting their own business?

Small and medium enterprises are a major driving force behind a nation’s economic development. For a country to thrive, a new generation of startups is crucial.

So, I encourage anyone with entrepreneurial ambitions to take the leap and make it happen. I also hope you equip yourselves with the necessary tools to face the challenges that the path of entrepreneurship will inevitably place before you.
